INTERMITTENT WATER SUPPLY DUE TO A FAULT AT THE ELANDSJAGT WATER TREATMENT WORKS.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is currently experiencing difficulties supplying water to certain storage reservoirs due to a fault at the Elandsjagt Water Treatment Works.
This places the system at risk as storage conditions remain low due to ongoing drought.
Municipal teams are currently on site assessing requirements to execute repairs.
Areas that could experience low pressure or disruptions include:
Parts of Walmer
Walmer Downs
Mangold Park
Glen Hurd
Newton Park
Greenacres
Parts of Cotsworld
Parts of Schauderville
Linkside
Mill Park
Parts of Central
Mount Croix
Perridgevale
Deal party
North End
Sydenham
The situation will be monitored and water tankers will be made available if reservoir storage levels deplete.
The positions of the water tankers will be communicated on the NMBM social media platforms and can also be enquired from 0800205050.
Consumers are requested to use water sparingly and not to stockpile, this will accelerate the depletion of storage.

48 HOUR SHUTDOWN OF LOERIE WATER TREATMENT WORKS
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to notify residents that on the 4th of May 2021, the Loerie Water Treatment Works will be closed for 48 hours in order to complete crucial upgrades as part of the Pump Station Refurbishment Project.
While necessary plans have been made to reduce the likelihood of shortages, it is possible that reservoir capacity will be exhausted before supply is restored
The levels in the water storage reservoirs are constantly monitored and further communication will be issued should water outages become imminent.
Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly such that the available water storages are not depleted during this period.
It is possible, however, that it may impact customers who are served directly from the bulk water pipeline
