Recent statements bemoaning a lack of opportunities for local economic development during the fast approaching 2010 FIFA World Cup™ will undoubtedly be reconsidered after the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality placed advertisements in the press requesting Traders to apply for trading licences.
Traders of merchandise, food, craft and beverages, who apply in time for the April 30 deadline and receive a positive response, will be able to sell their products at the FIFA Fan Fest (St Georges Park) and the Fan Zone from 11 June to 11 July. It is anticipated that substantially more people will visit the Fan Zone - which include the Fan Fest - than the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Meeting with residents and businesses
Furthermore, a meeting will be held with businesses and residents in areas surrounding St George’s Park Stadium regarding a briefing session on the Fan Zone which includes the Fan Park.
