CHIEF AUDITOR

(INTERNAL AUDIT – INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND RISK ASSURANCE)

POSITION CODE: 190087

TASK Grade 14 (R457 404 – R635 916 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

 

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • Three-year relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology.
  • A valid Code EB Driver''s License.
  • Five to six years’ experience in an audit environment.
  • Proven track record of IT related audits.
  • CA (SA), CIA or CISA (preferred) certification is an advantage.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

  •  
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English are a prerequisite.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Analytical and co-ordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders and conduct investigations.
  • An exceptional high degree of confidentiality (essential).
  • Experience in data analytics packages is essential.

 

Job purpose:

 

  • Coordinating and controlling the key functions associated with the Internal Audit and Risk Assurance Sub-directorate, with specific focus on Information Technology (IT) audits through research/analysis, development, drafting audit specifications, evaluating the control, risk management and governance processes within the Directorates.
  • A strong focus on all aspects of IT infrastructure and security, including identifying high risk exposure, data mining and analytics and auditing Information Technology (IT).
  • Recommending improvements on control weaknesses.

  

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
