Eastern Cape Premiers Cup :Bringing brilliant soccer to the city

The Eastern Cape Premier’s Cup, taking place on the 4th of July 2009, promises to be one of the highlights on this years soccer calendar.

Eastern Cape Premiers Cup 2009 Now in its second year, the 4 team soccer tournament will see some of South Africa’s top soccer clubs participating to win first prize, including teams such as Supersport United and Kaizer Chiefs. Other top clubs participating include Bloemfontein Celtics and home team, Bay United.

In its initial year the event attracted in excess of 5000 fanatical fans as teams such as Platinum Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic, Super Sport United and Bay United, competed for the inaugural title. It was Platinum Stars who took home first prize, beating Supersport United on penalties.

This year’s Eastern Cape Premier’s Cup is proudly joint sponsored by the Eastern Cape Provincial Government and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and will take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth. It is the municipality’s objective to bring the best of football to the many fans in Port Elizabeth,

Match day kickoff is scheduled for 11am sharp and will see Supersport United play BloemEastern Cape Premiers Cup 2009 Celtic. The following match will take place at 13h30 and sees Kazier Chiefs vs Bay United. The winners of both matches will meet in the final at 5pm on the 4 July 2009. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Thebe.

Neil Jankelowitz from MSCSPORTS concludes,

Tickets will go on sale from R20 at Computicket, all Shoprite Checkers and MTN retail stores. We urge fans to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment as tickets will not be sold on match day.
