PLANNED WATER SHUTDOWN IN WELLS ESTATE, BEVERLEY GROVE AND FRAMESBY TO CONDUCT MAINTANANCE WORK THIS WEEK
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will carry out water infrastructure maintenance work this week. This work will result in water shutdown in Wells Estate, Beverley Grove and Framesby.
Residents are advised that water supply will be temporarily shut off on Tuesday, 1
December 2020 between 09:00 and 14:00 in Wells Estate, between 09:00 and 14:00 on Wednesday, 2 December 2020 in Beverley Grove and between 09:00 and 14:00 on Thursday 2020 in Framesby.
The maintenance work will be conducted in these areas to ensure the City reduces water losses with routine maintenance on bulk water infrastructure. This is part of the City’s efforts to reduce the probability of unforeseen water disruptions due to lack of maintenance.
The infrastructure maintenance work is also vital to preserve the lifespan of the City's water infrastructure.
The City has chosen to conduct the work between 09:00 and 14:00 to ensure that few consumers will be inconvenienced.
The City would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.

LAND DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS:
Please be advised that no public participation processes for land development applications (rezoning, departures etc) will take place between 13 November 2020 to 08 January 2021. This is in relation to the placing of advertisements in the print media. The recess is in partial fulfillment of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (PAJA) and the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (MSA) as far as they related to fair and just administrative action. The period of recess is anticipated to be busy for effective public participation due to the fact that the public will be busy preparing for the festive season.

SUSPENSION OF E-NEWSPAPER AND E-MAGAZINE SERVICES
The NMBM
Library services regret to inform its NMBM community that its e-newspaper and
e-magazine service is suspended with immediate effect until further notice due to
technical and administrative challenges. The Library service is doing its
best to restore normal services. We are hoping to have resolved our challenges
within a month.
However,
our users may still access the e-book and audiobook service (Overdrive) by
going through the municipal website or via downloading the Libby app.

BURST AT GROENDAL MAIN PIPELINE COULD AFFECT WATER SUPPLY IN PARTS OF THE CITY
The City wishes to inform residents that the main supply pipeline, from Groendal dam to the treatment works in Uitenhage burst during the early hours of this morning.
Reservoir levels are currently low and water is being diverted from other sources. There is, however, a strong possibility that areas will be affected by this afternoon.
Teams are on site and the repair is expected to be completed by this evening. Water tankers have also been placed on standby.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BURCHEL DEPOT DUE TO COVID -19 INCIDENTS

The City's Water Division distribution depot has COVID - 19 incidents. Management has decided to temporarily close off the depot for decontamination.
A skeleton team will be put in place for continuity in dealing with leaks and burst pipes. Only major bursts and leaks will be attended to.
We humbly ask that residents bare with us as this will affect service delivery.

PLANNED WATER SHUTDOWN IN WARBLER ON TUESDAY TO REDUCE WATER LOSSES
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to advise residents in Warbler that water supply will be shutdown on Tuesday, 17 November 2020 for four hours to allow maintenance work to take place.
The shutdown will be effective from 9am to 1pm within the Warbler area to perform maintenance work on the pressure reducing valve supplying Warbler.
This is to ensure the City reduces water losses with routine maintenance on bulk water infrastructure done to reduce the probability of unforeseen water disruptions as a result of lack of maintenance.
