ASSISTANT MANAGER: WORKSHOPS

(FLEET MANAGEMENT SERVICES)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Trade Tested Artisan – Automotive Discipline.
  • Valid code B drivers’ license.
  • Three to four years’ relevant working experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • High level of attention to detail. 

As part of the selection process, candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination at the Municipality’s Occupation Health and Safety Division. 

Job purpose:

Coordinates and controls the workshop operations pertaining to the repairs and maintenance of municipal vehicles, inclusive of monitoring and implementing procedures, establishing resource requirements, planning and scheduling maintenance programmes and evaluating outcomes, monitoring and attending to deviations in productivity and performance and attending to specific administrative and information reporting requirements and processes.

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, a medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

Qualifications and experience required: 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification.
  • Five to six years’ relevant experience, preferably in a public sector – local government environment.
  • Must be certified as an Internal Auditor.
  • Must have Professional Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • Valid Code EB Driver’s License.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Key attributes and competencies: 

·        Content of the job design requires the knowledge, understanding and application of internal and other auditing processes.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.

·        Report-writing skills.

·        Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Co-ordinating and controlling the key functions associated with Internal Audit and Risk Management through research/analysis, development, drafting of audit specifications, evaluating the control, risk management and governance processes within directorates, recommending improvements on control weaknesses.

Qualifications and experience required:

 

·        National Diploma in Water Care or B Tech in Water Care.

·        A valid Code EB Driving License.

·        Class V Process Controller.

·        Professional Registration with Department of Water Affairs

·        Five years’ relevant experience.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

 

·        Computer literacy in Office Applications.

·        Good organisational, problem-solving and supervisory skills (essential).

·        Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.

·        Physically fit and able-bodied.

·        Required to work after hours in emergency situations.

 

Job Purpose

 

·        Coordinates and controls the operations of Waste Water Treatment Works (Water Reclamation) through the application of laid down procedures and specifications with respect to the monitoring, conducting of tests and analysis, controlling the activities of personnel and providing guidance on application in order to ensure optimum functionality levels are maintained and, preventing environmental pollution (e.g. to aquatic life) to the Department of Water Affairs &Forestry watercourse.

 

Co-ordinates and controls the effective operations of the Waste Water Treatment Plant and distribution systems through analysis and interpretation of requirements and provision of guidelines, planning and implementing process and maintenance intervention, assessing the applicability of changes, adjustments or the introduction of new approaches and ensure procedures are complied with and key service delivery objectives are accomplished in terms of the National Water Act and Water Quality Guidelines, south African National standards (SANS 241:2005 Edition 6 ), Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).

Job purpose:  

  • Manages and controls the key performance/maintenance areas associated with Arts, Culture, Heritage and Museums through the provision of professional guidance and support.
  • Defining and designing programme/project methodologies, approaches and concepts.
  • Analysing and evaluating the adequacy of proposals to meet objectives.
  • Managing and controlling project outcomes and communicating and/or providing explanations/recommendations based on the best practices associated with the arrangement, designing projects and programmes that support the Directorate and the broader Metro Arts and Culture community.
  • Manage the formulation of specific policies and procedures by:
    • Perusing and auctioning Council and Executive Committee resolutions pertaining to specific activities of the branch.
    • Amending and/or developing Arts and Culture Policies through the engagement of assigned consultants, consulting with community stakeholders on broad policy processes, and researching National Policy Framework on Arts and Culture.
