Qualification and experience required:
- A relevant three-year qualification with preference in auditing or internal audit as a major and registered with a recognised professional body.
- Computer literacy: MS Office applications.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Two to five years’ relevant experience required.
- CIA/PIA/RGA/CASA Certificate will be an added advantage.
Key attributes and competencies:
- Prepare clear and concise draft reports that are in accordance with the approved audit methodology/standards.
- Reflects conducted as stipulated in the Audit Charter and IIA Code of Ethics.
- Identifies and evaluates risks involved in alternative courses of action; and recommends appropriate courses of action to senior auditors/management.
- In-depth knowledge of Municipality’s policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Municipality’s functional directorates.
- Compiles system descriptions and internal control questionnaires in accordance with IA Methodology.
- Documents the results of the audit steps properly or reviews the adequacy thereof.
- Provides/ensures sufficient and reliable evidence to support proposed conclusions.
Job purpose:
Performs auditing and risk assessment tasks associated with providing assistance with the functions of the Internal Audit and Risk Management functionality, through conducting systems audit and other audits, to assess internal controls within the business units.

Qualification and experience required:
- A relevant three-year tertiary qualification in either Finance/Accounting, Audit, Legal, Forensic Investigations or Information Technology.
- Computer literacy: MS Office applications.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Five to eight years’ relevant experience required, which includes two years of supervisory experience.
- CFE/FPSA Certificates will be an added advantage.
Key attributes and competencies:
- Make preliminary decisions and recommendations on difficult ethical issues.
- Contributes to shaping departmental specific goals and priorities.
- Well-developed knowledge of relevant municipal legislation.
- Contributes towards addressing the departmental service delivery challenges.
- Contributes to the planning of a forensic investigation assignment.
- Apply control principles, such as separation of functions.
- Co-ordinates efforts with other assurance providers; and
- Implement the process of reporting forensic investigation findings.
Job purpose:
Lead, conduct, control the Forensic work and supervise Forensic Auditor.

- Manages fact-finding and delegates research to other auditors, giving clear, organised assignments.
- Ensures that audit work is following the norms of Internal Auditing and other standards set by IA.
- Prepares draft audit project reports on findings complete with management comments for review by the project manager based on the results of the various audit engagements.
