WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTION - NOOITGEDAGT
18 February 2026
The NMBM wishes to inform residents that recent rainfalls have caused a reduction in the output from Nooitgedagt Water Treatment Works due to poor raw water quality.
This has caused a shortfall in the supply to the Fairbridge Heights, Rosedale, Kamehs, End Street and Chatty reservoirs as well as the Despatch tower.
In addition, the pipeline supplying water from the Fairbridge to Rosedale reservoir, has burst and the main supply from the Groendal Water Treatment Works, is unable to meet the current demand.
The following areas are experiencing sporadic, low pressure or no water supply:
Scheepershoogte
Valeisig
Winterhoek Park
Higher lying parts of Fairbridge Heights, Strelitzia Park and Vanes Estate
Higher lying parts of Rosedale, including Moeggesukel, and Mountain View
Kamehs (Tiryville / Lapland)
Higher lying parts of Despatch and Daleview
Chatty
Jachtvlakte
Reservoir Hills
Higher lying parts of Khayamnandi and Joe Slovo West
The repair to the pipeline should be completed tonight but the output from Nooitgedagt may take another day or two.
Tankers have been deployed but they may not be enough to serve all areas.
The NMBM requests all residents to remain patient and reduce water consumption during this time.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
