Establishing a tourism business:
Individuals interested to establish a business in tourism industry are encouraged to:
- Read information about some of the categories of tourism business as provided below:
- Complete the new Tourism Business Registration Form providing the details about the intended business.
- Email the form to tourint1@mandelametro.gov.za
- Within seven working days, a designated official from the sub-directorate will visit you to assess the intended business.
- The official will provide a written feedback about the business.
- If the business demonstrates prospects for viability, the tourism sub-directorate will assist you to develop a project implementation plan.
Community tourism project:
In addition to the points outlined above, the project manager or representation must:
- Mobilise other community members to ensure common vision.
- Present the project to the Ward Councillor for support
- Submit the project for inclusion in the IDP
- The tourism sub-directorate will assist you to develop a project implementation plan.
COMMUNITY TOURISM FORUMS
The sub-directorate is working with community tourism forums in pursuit of its mandate. There are four existing tourism forums, which are structured to serve as a platform for broader consultation in township tourism.
